The use of lavender in personal hygiene is not a recent invention. The Romans highly valued the plant as an additive in their baths, and the name "lavender" is believed to derive from the Latin "lavare" – to wash. Linalyl acetate, a monoterpenoid ester, is the main active ingredient in lavender essential oil. It is responsible for the characteristic fragrance and possesses significant therapeutic properties via the central nervous system: it has a calming effect and is particularly effective against stress and sleep disorders.
The positive effects of the "Calendula Lavender" shower soap are not limited to the mind. The active ingredients play an important role in improving the health and appearance of the skin: In combination with the calendula petals, linalool has a very important effect on reducing inflammation in blemished and sensitive skin.
Lavender essential oil and calendula blossoms contain many beneficial substances for the skin. However, their positive effects could be diminished if they were mixed with artificial or questionable ingredients in skincare products. Therefore, in developing the "Calendula Lavender" shower soap, all ingredients were selected with the aim of providing optimal skin protection while offering a pleasant shower experience. The calendula blossoms contribute their high trisaponin content to the lather, resulting in a gentler cleansing action.
This product is plastic free and packaged in a beautiful hessian bag.
