Why It Matters
Most local makers depend heavily on tourist seasons for income, even though what they make is valuable far beyond those few months. At the same time, more and more people are looking for well-made, sustainable alternatives to the mass-produced goods found in supermarkets and online platforms, but don’t always know where to start.
Our mission is to bring these quiet masters to your doorstep, providing an alternative to the "throwaway" culture that has dominated the last few decades.
Buying from independent makers helps keep local skills alive and supports a fair, sustainable economy across the EU. We provide our makers a fair price for their goods, as well as transparency into our fee structure. We aim to create an equal, sustainable partnership with all our makers.

Our Approach
- Protecting Ancient Craftsmanship: We personally source every product, focusing on local European makers that keep traditional skills alive. We believe this will build resilience locally, as year round income is generated by our makers, it creates opportunity for future generations to continue to learn these skills.
- Sustainable & Organic: We choose to partner with makers sharing our same vision for a sustainable future. Makers can demonstrate sustainable sourcing and production practices. We commit to using recycled packaging. We have almost no plastic in any of our packaging (this is a really tricky one, and some products have a plastic top, or a food safe inner lining. We do our best to choose makers that have a zero plastic policy or keep the plastic to an absolute mininum). As we move forward, we plan on adding a carbon calculator at check out, so you can view the exact carbon foot print your order has.
- A Different Kind of Consumption: We advocate for "buying less, but buying better." We want you to own pieces that tell a story and last a lifetime. We don't believe in endless stock. We celebrate small-batch production that respects the natural pace of creation, giving our makers a better income without costing the earth.

Further Support of Carbon Neutrality
While we work to reduce emissions at the source, we know that reaching a stable climate requires more than just "net zero." For every order placed, we will directly contribute 1 Euro to carbon capture programs through Climeworks. Unlike traditional offsetting, which often only prevents future emissions, carbon capture focuses on "bridging the gap" by removing the excess carbon already heating our atmosphere. Your contribution supports high-impact portfolios which balance nature based and technology based carbon capture initiatives. We will periodically communicate our joint carbon capture impact.
