Laume Linen

Laumė Linen is a family-oriented Lithuanian brand that draws its name and creative inspiration from the mystical fairies of Baltic folklore known for their weaving and spinning. Founded by Miglė Mikulėnaitė, the company operates as a small-scale studio in Vilnius where they emphasize a slow-fashion approach to home and family textiles. They distinguish themselves in the market by focusing heavily on linen clothing for children and babies, ensuring that every garment is made from high-quality, hypoallergenic fibers that are safe for sensitive skin.
The production process at Laumė centers on a made-to-order model, which effectively eliminates the environmental burden of overstock and waste. Every piece of fabric they use carries the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification and the European Flax label, guaranteeing that the materials are grown sustainably and processed without toxic chemicals. To achieve their signature soft texture, they utilize mechanical stone-washing techniques that break down the natural rigidity of flax without the use of aggressive chemical softeners that could degrade the fiber over time.
While their aesthetic is grounded in modern minimalism, Laumė incorporates traditional Lithuanian design elements such as waffle weaves and functional, timeless silhouettes like the pinafore and smock dress. They maintain a strict zero-waste policy where fabric scraps from larger items are repurposed into smaller accessories or children’s toys. This blend of ancient Baltic craft and ethical manufacturing results in durable pieces designed to be passed down through generations, effectively countering the disposable nature of modern fast fashion.
What we love about Laume Linen
Migle's background with a decade in France and returning to her home country inspired me. Her lessons in owning her own business, the fashion industry and design has brought her to focus on sustainable, lifetime pieces made from her country's traditional linen. She's a woman powerhouse and I am proud to partner with her.
